We’ve all done the much dreaded “Preset Sort” through our favorite recording program before. We take a few hours out of our time on Saturday to search through hundreds, if not thousands, of sounds to narrow it down to a few usable patches. No matter how great the program or instrument, we always have to wade through tons of unusable sounds. Worship music tends to call for a specific “breed” of synth and pad patches.
We need Pads that are tasteful, not too muddy and have just enough “something” in them to keep it interesting. With Textures, we’ve tried to eliminate the time you would spend searching for great pad sounds, and provide you with great pad sounds that work in Ableton Live. Textures features 53 different pad and synth sounds, organized into four different categories and Live sets. Bright pads represents sounds that start with a brighter foundation and will cut through even the muddiest mix. Textures Pianos includes great Piano patches that will
help enhance any Worship band with a different touch besides just a normal grand piano sound. The Special/Rhythmic patches are great for simple chord progressions where you can let the patch do all the work for you. Last but not least. Warm Pads is a great collection of thick and ethereal sounding, pads that layer well with a piano patch, and work incredibly well during the invitation, prayer times, or in-between songs for smoother transitions.
Most pad collections are full of sounds that are better suited for 80′s pop or hardcore dance music. We’ve created this collection to provide worship leaders and worship keyboardist’s a perfect place to call up appropriate and interesting pad patches. Because of the way we’ve created these patches, they don’t take up much CPU and therefore work great in a live worship setting.
If you create a lot of your own loops, you’ll have a huge collection of presets to choose from.
This collection has been tested in Live worship settings and has been used to create a multitude of loops and sequences for worship bands. They’ve been tweaked and optimized to give you the best collection of pads for worship music ever created. Making use of Live’s innovative Instrument Rack device, we’ve pre-mapped useful functions for each patch so you can really dive in and customize each patch. Once you get the patch dialed up to your liking, you can drag each preset into Live’s browser and store (and name them to your liking) so you can use them across all of your Live projects.
Textures is tested to work with Live 8 Intro, Live 8, and Live 8 Suite. If you’re not sure if textures works with your version of Live, download the trial patches and try them out!
