Music you Should be Listening To: Kye Kye Edition

Posted by Will in Music you Should be Listening to

Kye Kye Kye Kye is definitely one of the best new bands I’ve heard in a very, very long time. I’d even go so far as to say they’re the most refereshing band I’ve heard in a while. I tend to walk the line between really electronic and acoustic music. Kye Kye blends the line really well. They’re listed in the “Electronic” section of Itunes, but could very easily fit in an acoustic or Indie section. Young Love is a very produced CD, but not in the...

Music you Should be Listening: 5/17/2011 Edition

Posted by Will in Music you Should be Listening to

I‘ve been working hard on trying to eliminate a phrase from my vocabulary, “It’s pretty good for Christian_______”. How many times as Worship Leaders do we say, “The album’s pretty good for Christian music”? Put that music in the light of whats popular or even “Mainstream” music and it falls apart. If what they are saying is that important, why does it often get presented in a less than flattering music and lyrical context? Thats why most of...

Music you Should be Listening To: Tron Reconfigured

Posted by Will in blog, Chatter, Music you Should be Listening to

If you’ve been around the blog for a while, you’ll probably remember this post a few months ago about the Tron Soundtrack. It’s been one of my favorites for the past few months. I noticed this morning to much delight that there’s now a remix album of the Tron soundtrack. And it’s an offical remix.  If you’ve wondered what the Tron soundtrack would of sounded like if The Glitch Mob, Moby, Kaskade, and The Crystal Method worked with Daft Punk, then...

Music you Should be Listening To: March 21st Edition

Posted by Will in blog, Chatter, Music you Should be Listening to

If I started off this post by saying this artist is inspired by watching “Grey’s Anatomy” you may not give her the time of day. So I’m not going to, but I will say this is an artist I wish I had caught wind of a long time ago. The artist is, Kate Havnevik, and the CD is “Melankton”. The CD first came out in 2007, but still 4 years later it’s more fresh sounding and creative then most things I’ve heard recently. The thing that made me check her out...

Music you should be listening to…May 5th Edition

Posted by Will in blog, Chatter, Music you Should be Listening to

In case you missed it here’s last weeks edition ( the very first I should mention!) of Music you Should be Listening to.  For this week this is what we’ve got: Black Swan-Athlete The newest release from the band Athlete (It’s taken a while to make it to the States) is sure to not disappoint.  In my opinion Athlete is a perfect blend of great lyrics, Rock elements and Electronic elements, all while making them sound like they go together.  Most “Electronic”...

This is a brand new section/segment to the blog where we will present some of the music we are listening to and feel that you should be listening to also!  We’ll try and present you with some artists you’ve heard of before and maybe some you haven’t, but nonetheless great music through and through! Ragamuffin Soul- Carlos Whittaker This is the new CD from Atlanta-based Worship Leader, Blogger, and recent Viral Video Hero, Carlos Whittaker.  It’s by no means a...
