Free Loop Resources

Posted by Will in Transitioning your Band to Using Loops

There are tons of Free Loop Resources available for people interested in creating and using loops.  Getting started with using loops no longer requires a big money or time investment up front. You can comfortably try out the idea of loops with your band by using some free loops, and ask questions in “community” based settings.  You can learn quick tips & tricks on free blogs. In this post we’ll provide not only free content resources but also some blogs and communities available to you.  We’ll be updating this post frequently as we find new Loop Resources.  Let us know what some of your favorite ones are, by leaving a comment below and we’ll add them to the post.

Blogs

Our Rising Sound- A great blog by worship leader Kyle Campos.  Kyle has alot of great things to say about using loops with your worship band.  He’s got some great videos posted as well.  You can check out some of the loops that he offers as well and have him create Custom Loops for you.

The Monobox- Doesn’t seem like Matt has updated the blog recently but there are still some great posts on using loops there.

HeaterCore- How about a Live tip everyday for a year?  Sounds good to me.  Thats what producer Jon Margulies is doing for 2010.  So stroll over and learn something new everyday.

Create Digital Music-Lots of great music gear reviews and interesting posts.

Communities

Bwacks Forum-The orignal “Loop Community” from Bwack the drummer for the David Crowder Band.  There’s always something great happening over there.

The Worship Community-Not just a community for using loops but a great place for any Worship Leader to hang out.  The forum is full of some really useful content as well.

Ableton Forums- The offical forum for Ableton (the company that makes Live).  If you want to ask the guys who make Live a specific question, or stay up to date with releases this is the place to do it!

Thanks for the great free resources on loops and click tracks. We really benefit from the regular use of loops/clicks to synchronize our two bands in different rooms together. Without them, we’d have a hard time adding the seats we’ve needed.
