Music you Should be Listening to..April 29th Edition

Posted by Will in blog, Chatter, Music you Should be Listening to

This is a brand new section/segment to the blog where we will present some of the music we are listening to and feel that you should be listening to also!  We’ll try and present you with some artists you’ve heard of before and maybe some you haven’t, but nonetheless great music through and through!

Ragamuffin Soul- Carlos Whittaker

Carlos Whittaker - Ragamuffin Soul

This is the new CD from Atlanta-based Worship Leader, Blogger, and recent Viral Video Hero, Carlos Whittaker.  It’s by no means a “game-changing” album as far as worship music goes, but there are a few tunes on here that would be very at home in almost any church.

Passionate Reverence EP-Joshua Seller

Joshua Seller - Passionate Reverence - EP

Josh is a Worship Leader based out of Canada and a Twitter Friend.  He’s put together a great EP with 3 Tunes that would work great in almost any church.

Beautiful Things-Gungor

Gungor - Beautiful Things

The new Gungor album is probably one of the most diverse-sounding Worship Albums I’ve heard in a while.  Nothing new here musically – you can hear traces of Muse, and U2 as well as others – but they do a great job of weaving all these styles together to make them sound like their own.  There is both Great Lyrical and Musical Content here as well.

Meredith Andrews-As Long as it Takes

Meredith Andrews - As Long As It Takes

Meredith is a great friend from Liberty University.  We played together on the Campus Band and I can truly say she is the Real Deal.  You don’t need me to tell you that though, its clear after only a few listens through the CD.  How Great is the Love is a great song that will Surely be on the Set-List for many Churches in the near future.

God of the Ages-Charles Billingsley

Charles Billingsley - CHARLES BILLINGSLEY: GOD of the AGES (Live At Thomas Road)

Charles is another friend of mine from Liberty University.  I’ve spent the last few years leading worship with Charles in many situations, both big and small, all over the US and in every situation Charles has the ability to reach out and speak to the audience no matter who they are.  There are a few tunes on this CD that will work in all types of Churches, especially the title track, “God of the Ages”.

One-Liberty University Campus Praise Band
Liberty University Campus Praise Band - One

I was a part of the Liberty University Campus Band while I attended Liberty. “One” is the new CD from the Campus Band and features a few great new versions of Worship Tunes as well as a few original tunes from Liberty.  I did the programming on two tracks for this CD, “The Lord Reigns” and “Bless the Lord”.  If you’re looking for some fresh new worship songs for your church, give this CD a listen!
