The church world is full of conferences. There are conferences for Worship Leaders, Children’s Pastors, Senior Pastors, Pastors of Athletics, Pastors of Food Digestion, Pastors of Sanitation and the list goes on….With limited budgets and piles of work to do, it’s tough to decide what conferences to choose to attend. You’ve got to make sure the conference matches up to your needs and your team’s needs and make sure you’re going to get your money’s worth. I wanted to let you know about a conference you’re going to want to attend.
The conference is Sennheiser’s Installed Sound Academy. It’s a conference that touches on a wide range of live audio topics, including working with RF and wireless systems. This is a topic that all churches and Worship Leader’s NEED to know a lot more about. A good friend of mine, Kent Margaves, will be one of the featured instructors there and believe me when I tell you that Kent knows his stuff.
We all know people that claim to be experts and everyone always has a friend who used to run sound for (insert formerly popular 90′s christian band) but when it comes down to it often times their expertise and experience seem slightly exaggerated. I’ve known Kent for a while now and I can truly say he is someone who really knows his stuff and more importantly he’s one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet.
Kent and the rest of the guys teaching the seminar eat and breathe RF application and live audio. The great thing about this conference is there are no keynotes or “headlining” bands just practical hands-on training from experts in the field of audio. You and your team will walk away far more equipped to produce quality worship experiences and a better audio experience overall.
I’ll be attending the conference on Wednesday and Thursday of this week and I’ll be posting thoughts throughout the conference on the Loops in Worship Twitter and a follow up post next week.
