Awesome post! Thanks a lot. If it's cool with you I'd like to link back to this page from my blog: The Catholic Worship Blog (URL above) My post is mainly on using the iPad in worship as a music binder and mentioning some other apps. I figured I don't have to re-invent the wheel in discussing iPad as an instrument since you've already done it, and I love your blog none the less! Thanks!

That's awesome! That's actually a great idea, and a very practical use for an iPhone/iPad doing synth stuff. Great Job on innovating and doing it 2 years ago! See ya in a few weeks. Thanks for the comment!

Will, I have used Noise.io for basic pads during transitions and intros while playing a worship set on drums. It worked really well and was definitely cool (considering I did it about 2 years ago before people had begun to realize the potential!)
Great blog! See you soon.

Doug F

Yeah Automap is great, I've used it for a few months on my iphone and it's great. It should only be a matter of time now before they update it for iPad.

I'd like to see Automap Pro for the iPad. They have it for iPhone already. http://us.novationmusic.com/products/software/a...

Great thoughts! One of the great wins for the iPad is it's low price considering all the options it as included as opposed to the lemur (as cool as it is!). The Music Stand app does look awesome. The flexibility it offers and savings in paper means it will pay for itself fairly quick!

I haven't purchased an iPad yet (waiting for 2nd generation) but I'm super-excited about all the apps being developed for it. Before the iPad, you would have to purchase a $2000 Lemur (http://www.jazzmutant.com/lemur_overview.php) to get customizable touch-screen control. Now, it can easily be done for just a little over $500 with the iPad and a few apps. I think this is just the beginning and I can't wait to see how software developers at Ableton, Reason and Logic develop apps to take full advantage of the iPad!

Another development in worship tech that I'm excited about is Planning Center Music Stand for iPad. This is another area where justifying the cost of the iPad becomes very easy: with Music Stand, I'd never need to print music charts again. When you factor in the three weekly services I'm involved in, that adds up to a lot of time and paper saved!

http://blog.ministrycentered.com/2010/05/04/int...
